Flights to the Cayman Islands connect the destination with major gateways across the United Kingdom, United States, Canada and the Caribbean, giving travel advisors a good range of options when planning a client's journey.

Owen Roberts International Airport (GCM) on Grand Cayman is the main international gateway. Most clients will arrive here before beginning their stay or connecting onwards to the Sister Islands. There is also selected international service directly into Charles Kirkconnell International Airport (CYB) on Cayman Brac, which can be particularly useful when building a multi-island itinerary.

Air service varies by market and season. The information below provides an overview of the main ways to reach the Cayman Islands, while the accompanying airlift schedule should be used for detailed operating dates and frequencies.

Travelling from the UK and Europe

For UK clients, British Airways provides the most straightforward air link to Grand Cayman, with a one-stop through service from London Heathrow via Nassau. The aircraft stops in Nassau before continuing to Grand Cayman, so the service should not be described as nonstop. Journey time is approximately 11 hours, including the stop, although this will vary by schedule.

The 2026/27 schedule shows British Airways operating the Nassau–Grand Cayman sector on several days each week, maintaining regular access throughout the year.

Clients travelling from elsewhere in the UK or Europe can connect through London Heathrow or travel via a North American gateway. Miami is one of the most useful connecting points, with extensive onward air service to Grand Cayman. When routing clients through the United States, remember that applicable US entry and transit requirements still need to be considered, even when the USA is not their final destination.

Flights to Grand Cayman from the USA

The United States provides the widest range of nonstop gateways to Grand Cayman. During the 2026/27 winter schedule, service is available from major hubs including Miami, Charlotte, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth, Chicago, New York/Newark, Orlando, Tampa, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Washington Dulles.

Additional seasonal services broaden the options during the peak winter period. The schedule includes flights from Boston and Baltimore, as well as winter service from Austin, Denver, Detroit and Minneapolis/St. Paul. These routes do not all operate throughout the year, so it is important to check travel dates before presenting them as an option to clients.

For clients who do not live near a nonstop gateway, the larger US hubs provide strong one-stop connectivity. Miami is particularly useful, with both American Airlines and Cayman Airways operating to Grand Cayman and a wide choice of domestic and international connections. Charlotte, Atlanta, Houston, Chicago and the New York area are also useful gateways when building itineraries from elsewhere in the United States.

Airlines serving the US market during the schedule period include American Airlines, Cayman Airways, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines and Sun Country, with the airline mix varying by gateway and season.

Flights from Canada

Toronto is the main Canadian gateway to Grand Cayman. Air Canada and WestJet operate Toronto–Grand Cayman service with Porter Airlines adding further Toronto service from December.

Porter also restarts seasonal nonstop service between Ottawa and Grand Cayman from December 2026 into early April 2027. This gives advisors another direct option for clients in Ottawa, Eastern Ontario and surrounding areas rather than automatically routing them through Toronto or a US hub.

Canadian frequencies change during the season and are generally strongest over the winter months. Check the client's exact travel dates before settling on a gateway or carrier.

Getting to Cayman Brac and Little Cayman

Grand Cayman does not have to be the first stop for every Cayman Islands itinerary.

Cayman Airways operates selected nonstop flights from Miami to Cayman Brac, providing a useful option for clients who want to begin their holiday on Cayman Brac rather than connecting through Grand Cayman. The service appears throughout the year, primarily on Saturdays.

Clients can also fly into Grand Cayman and connect onwards to Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. This makes it straightforward to build two- or three-island itineraries, particularly for clients interested in spending time beyond the main resort areas of Grand Cayman.

For a multi-island trip, it is worth looking at the air routing before finalising accommodation dates. Starting or ending the holiday on Cayman Brac, for example, may produce a more efficient itinerary depending on the client's international flights.

Airlines flying to the Cayman Islands

Across the 2026/27 winter period, international air service is provided by a range of carriers including Air Canada, American Airlines, British Airways, Cayman Airways, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue, Porter Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Sun Country Airlines, United Airlines and WestJet.

Not every airline or gateway operates year-round. Some routes are concentrated around the peak winter season, while frequencies on established routes can also increase or reduce at different points in the year.
